Anna Torrent - FOOLS GARDEN (Lemon Tree)

LA HISTÒRIA

Fool’s garden (amb apòstrof) és una banda de pop d’origen alemany que va començar l’any 1991 i es va fer famosa arreu d’Àsia i Europa degut a la cançó ‘Lemon Tree’, dos anys després del seu debut amb el disc ‘Once in a Blue Moon’.

Val a dir que els integrants del grup no són els mateixos que aleshores, ja que l’any 2003 el baixista, el bateria i el segon guitarrista van decidir deixar el grup i van ser substituïts pels integrants que hi ha ara. Els nous membres, juntament amb el cantant (que va preferir seguir en el grup), van decidir canviar el nom de la banda per anomenar-la Fools Garden.

Pel que fa a les actuacions, el grup mostra gran interès en els clàssics del rock ‘n’ roll i la música Britànica, i fa versions de cançons dels Beatles (‘ticket to ride’, ‘my generation’, etc). Algunes d’aquestes versions es poden trobar en diversos dels seus àlbums d’estudi.

A la cançó veureu que hi apareixen sons que semblen propis d’una orquestra (n’hi ha un que crec que s’assembla a un instrument de vent- metall de so greu) i de sons quotidians (vidres trencats i el ressò que recorda a un vidre), que són afegits amb el teclat.

ESTRUCTURA

Preludi A:ƖƖ B A’ A C A’’ A’’’:ƖƖ Postludi

Com s’ha comentat abans, el teclat fa un joc de sons i dóna molta versatilitat pel que fa al canvi d’instruments al llarg de la cançó i marca el preludi (vidre que es trenca) i després d’ A’ (ressò d’un vidre, semblant a una copa quant es pica amb un cobert). El leitmotiv consisteix en variacions d’A usant altres finals en el tema o canviant els instruments.

PER QUÈ FOOLS GARDEN?

Aquesta cançó m’agrada perquè quan era petita per casa hi havia hagut una cinta de casset amb els èxits dels 40 principals del moment on sortia aquesta cançó. Més que res, em feia gràcia pels instruments, que tenien un aire graciós (el vent- metall) i els canvis en la melodia. La lletra també està bastant bé, no us sembla?
